Creative, professional and passionate about her work, makeup artist Jo Drake knows how to make people look their best, whatever the occasion. Jo’s calm professionalism under pressure makes her the makeup artist of choice for TV, live broadcasts, and events, while her artistic, creative style has also won her work in film, and in fashion and editorial shoots.
A makeup artist since 1992 having achieved an HND at The London College Of Fashion in hair and make-up fashion styling , her talent for creating the right look has seen Jo work on a diverse range of productions, including BBC Breakfast News, Crimewatch, The BBC 999 Awards, GMTV, Have I Got News For You, and Sky Sports’ Soccer AM. Film work has included Ralph Fiennes’s Coriolanus, while her flair for interpreting the current makeup trends has seen her work appear in ads for Wispa and Debenhams, and in fashion and editorial shoots for magazines including Vogue, Elle, Hello, and OK!
During the course of her work, Jo has made up a huge variety of public figures and celebrities, including Trevor McDonald and Kirsty Young on a regular basis, as well as Jon Snow, Carol Vorderman, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Dustin Hoffman, Lenny Henry, John Barrowman, Jedward and The Stereophonics.
Jo is signed up to the agency Callbox Communications at Shepperton Studios.
